Description

The tour starts in San Carlos de Bariloche and heads towards Cerro Catedral, named after the towers crowning its top, which resemble those of a gothic cathedral.

Cerro Catedral features one of the most important ski resorts in South America, offering a surface of 600 Ha. (1,482 acres) and a maximum length of 9 kilometers (5.60 miles) suitable for skiing. It has all the necessary facilities to practice winter sports surrounded by natural, magnificent landscapes. During the rest of the year, visitors can enjoy other activities, such as trekking along the mountain trails and rock climbing.

During the tour, the caves of the Virgen de las Nieves (Virgin of the Snows) -mountaineers’ patron saint- can be visited, later reaching Villa Los Coihues, by Gutiérrez Lake. Visitors can also go to Emilio Frey shelter at an altitude of 1,700 meters (5,577 ft), located by Tonchek Lake and surrounded by a breathtaking mountain landscape. The tour ends in the city of Bariloche.
