Description:

City tour
The tour around the city of Buenos Aires includes the following destinations:

Plaza de Mayo (May Square): the spot on which the city was founded. It is located in the city center, surrounded by the Government House -or Casa Rosada (Pink House)-, the Cabildo (Town Hall), and the Cathedral.

The Cathedral: It has been rebuilt several times throughout the years, and it is one of the most attractive buildings thanks to its large facade featuring twelve columns representing the twelve apostles. General San Martín’s sepulcher is located in a marble mausoleum inside the Cathedral.

Cabildo (Town Hall): For centuries, it was the meeting place for city authorities. Part of its facade was demolished to enlarge avenues Avenida de Mayo and Diagonal Sur, by removing six of its eleven arcs. Government House: Since 1862, it has housed the Executive Power of Argentina. Its facade is famous for its typical pink color and lack of symmetry, resulting from a partial demolition of its south wing in 1938. This building is also known as the “Pink House”.

San Telmo: It is the oldest neighborhood in the city, where antique shops and traditional bars can be visited.

La Boca: Located in the south of the city and by the Riachuelo (Little River), this neighborhood features the typical Caminito Street; a museum-street and traditional scenery of great cultural and tourist value, which gained cultural relevance for having served as inspiration for the famous tango “Caminito” (1926), composed by Juan de Dios Filiberto.

Recoleta: An exclusive neighborhood of the city filled with European-style architecture and parks featuring design and art centers. The historical Recoleta Cemetery is located in this neighborhood. Puerto Madero: The newest neighborhood in the city, where the most modern buildings and restaurants have been built by the riverside.

Teatro Colón (Colón Theater): This is undoubtedly the most representative theater in the city. It is a typical building with its own identity that offers world-class shows and concerts throughout the year. Av. 9 de Julio: It is said to be the widest avenue in the world. In this tour, the emblematic Obelisk will be seen, and visitors will be able to enjoy the life and rhythm of Buenos Aires.

Tango Carlos Gardel
Esquina Carlos Gardel is an invitation to spend an evening of authentic tango: to have dinner while enjoying a top-class tango show, in a place full of Buenos Aires history.

The A la carte menu includes cold or hot starters, main course, and dessert, accompanied by red or white wine, beer, mineral water, sodas, and coffee. The corner of the dead-end street Carlos Gardel, named after the famous singer, and Anchorena Street (where his statue is located), used to be the location of a restaurant attended by the picturesque character of the market: “Chanta Cuatro”.

Silent witness of an extraordinary time when young Carlos Gardel would meet with friends and buddies to dine, stay overnight, sing, or just wait for the morning to come. It used to be home to working men, immigrants, and malandras (scoundrels). It experienced the glory of tango, perhaps due to its proximity to Carlos Gardel’s home on Jean Jaurès Street, less than two blocks away from there.

Today, more than 100 years later, history magically repeats itself, once again. Esquina Carlos Gardel is located exactly on the same spot where “Chanta Cuatro” used to be. It melts these two authentic pieces of history, and represents a unique and unbeatable option in tango-themed restaurants.
