We were told 7:30 pm for pick up, but it was 8:15 p.m. and the hotel staff gave us bad info - telling us you had already been there asking for us - so we were in a bit of a panic.

In corner baptized Carlos Gardel in his tribute and street Anchorena, where today the statue that immortalizes it is located, existed a restaurant that sheltered between its walls the colorful personages of the market: “Chanta Four”. Dumb witness of a unique history where Carlitos Gardel used to meet with its friends and pals to have supper, to simply spend the night or to sing . “Chanta Four”, opened its doors for the first time in 1893, by that then under the form of restaurant and familiar hotel of two plants. Its opening was practically simultaneous to the old Market of the Supply of the city, coexisting in glories and decays. It knew to be shelter of men of work, immigrants and malandras. It lived the splendor on the tango, maybe infected by his vicinity with the house of Carlos Gardel of the street Jean Jaurès, to less than two blocks of his location. Today, more than 100 years later, this history returns, magically, to repeat itself. “Corner Carlos Gardel”, located exactly in he himself estate where “Chanta Four” worked, unites these two authentic histories and it offers a matchless and insurmountable alternative to us in thematic restaurants of Tango.
