Descripction
Around 1890, its original name used to be Bar Rivadavia. For over a century, this was one of the most traditional cafés in the city of Buenos Aires. It soon became the meeting place for poets, musicians, and payadores (gaucho singers), who shared tables with malandras (scoundrels), swindlers and cafishios (pimps). According to the legend, the neighborhood’s police inspector used to refer to cafishios as angelitos (little angels).

Years later, in 1920, the place took its current name. Café de los Angelitos has over a hundred years of Buenos Aires history. The most prominent 20th-century political and artistic personalities visited this place. And many of the pages that made Buenos Aires live and breathe tango were written here. Café de los Angelitos offers a tango show performed by a six-member orchestra, a ladies’ orchestra, two singers, and ten dancers, all of them displaying a one-of-a-kind show on its magnificent stage.
