Fantastic trip and a totally unique experience .. well worth the money. Was worried about not having the right kit but trainers were fine with crampons. Do it!

DESCPRIPTION

Perito Moreno minitrekking tour leaves from Bajo de las Sombras port, where visitors get onboard the boat and sail along the waters of the Rico River Arm. From there, the South Wall of Perito Moreno Glacier can be seen.

After 20 minutes, visitors disembark at a wharf on the rocks. The tour is an invitation to cross on foot a forest of ñires, typical trees in the area characterized by their strong colors, and then reach the Lake beach after a 15-minute walk.

There, the guides will provide a detailed explanation on glacier formation. Visitors will put on the crampons that enable improved traction on the ice.

Now the trek starts, with the trail featuring natural beauty at all times: waterfalls formed by smelt waters, a field of seracs (fragmented and sharp ice blocks), cracks and lakes. When returning, passengers will have the lunch they’ve prepared because there are no nearby stores.

After returning to the harbor, a bus drives passengers to the wooden pathways of Perito Moreno Glacier, where 1-2 hours will be given to walk freely along them.
