Our tourguide asked us if it will be ok if she spoke in english due to a greater amount of people of the US, the only thing was that she had very poor english and it was difficult to understand what she was trying to say.

DESCRIPTION

The tour includes three visit options:

Undurraga Vineyard: it is one of the first wine exporters, with over 120 years of tradition. This vineyard was founded by Don Francisco Undurraga, a 19th century entrepreneur. Stocks of vines were personally brought from France and Germany and, under the supervision of well-known French wine-grower M. Pressac, the first vineyards on Santa Ana land were developed. In 1903, the first shipments were sent to the United States and, today, these wines are present in over 60 countries.

Concha y Toro Vineyard: the history of this vineyard starts in 1883, when Melchor Concha y Toro brought French vine stocks from Bordeaux and sowed them in Pirque, in Maipo valley. As time went by, this winery grew until becoming one of the main wine exporters in Latin America, present in more than 115 countries.

Aquitania Vineyard: this is a boutique winery set up in 1984 by Bruno Prats and Paul Pontallier, two very well-known enologist-agronomists from Bordeaux. They started looking for a high-quality Terroir in Chile in order to create an original vineyard, so they became partners with a friend in common, Felipe Solminihac, a Chilean enologist-agronomist of French background. In January 2002, Ghislain de Montgolfier, an enologist-agronomist from the Champagne region and old friend of the founders’, joined the venture.
