|It is located 11 km away from the city. We will be able to appreciate lakes,lagoons and rivers within its limits,and their exit towards Beagle Channel,characteristic that makes the difference with the other national parks of our country.|
Departing from the Maipu Avenue towards the southwest by the national route nro. 3,we will drive out of the city passing by the slope of the Susana Mount,witness of the work of the priosners of the old prison where now the Southern Fuegian Railway is located. After a brief visit to the facilities of the station we boarded the End of the World Train,which will take us along the way that had the old train prison.
The train runs along the Rio Pipo,until it crosses it on the "Puente Quemado" (Burnt Bridge),where you can see the wooden ruins of the old bridge underneath the new one. Upon reaching the first stop in Station "Cascada La Macarena",you can choose to climb to the lookout to see a beautiful waterfall or can go down to a reconstruction of a settlement "Yamanas" an native tribes that inhabited these lands for hundreds of years. The second stop is the Lombardich Station,where you can visit the ruins of the old sawmill. Finally,after passing through a dense forest of "coihues" and "beech",the train arrives at the station of the National Park "Tierra del Fuego".
We will go towards the other end of the Park,where finalizes the route nro. 3 at Lapataia Bay,on the way to the mentioned bay we will observe the Green Lagoon and the Black Lagoon,large growing peat bog. Finally we will pass by the beaver dams,whose footpath will lead to Lapataia Bay.
